The geometric characterization identifies the sets of nodes such that the Lagrange polynomials are products of factors of first degree. We offer a detailed classification of all known sets satisfying the geometric characterization in the plane. The defect, which takes into account the number of lines containing more nodes than the degree, plays a fundamental role in this classification. We give a Newton type rational interpolation formula (Theorem 2.2). It contains as a special case the original Newton interpolation, as well as the interpolation formula of Liu, which allows to recover many important classical q-series identities. It is applied the interpolation procedure to calculate the stationary probability distribution of colored-gain-noise model of a single-mode dye laser which operates above threshold with correlation time τ covering a very wide rang. By use of Stochastic Runge-Kutta Algorithm, it also has carried out numerical simulations of the steady-state properties. Comparing the results of the interpolation procedure and the unified colored-noise approximation with simulation results, the agreement between the results of the interpolation procedure and simulation results is much better than that of the unified colored-noise approximation when correlation time τ covers range from moderate to large.  相似文献

   Abstract. We propose C 1 Hermite interpolants generated by the general subdivision scheme introduced by Merrien [17] and satisfying monotonicity or convexity constraints. For arbitrary values and slopes of a given function f at the end-points of a bounded interval, which are compatible with the contraints, the given algorithms construct shape-preserving interpolants. Moreover, these algorithms are quite simple and fast as well as adapted to CAGD. We also give error estimates in the case of interpolation of smooth functions.  相似文献

We consider the approximation of trigonometric operator functions that arise in the numerical solution of wave equations by trigonometric integrators. It is well known that Krylov subspace methods for matrix functions without exponential decay show superlinear convergence behavior if the number of steps is larger than the norm of the operator. Thus, Krylov approximations may fail to converge for unbounded operators. In this paper, we propose and analyze a rational Krylov subspace method which converges not only for finite element or finite difference approximations to differential operators but even for abstract, unbounded operators. In contrast to standard Krylov methods, the convergence will be independent of the norm of the operator and thus of its spatial discretization. We will discuss efficient implementations for finite element discretizations and illustrate our analysis with numerical experiments. We describe a class of smoothed orthogonal series density estimates, including the classical sequential-series introduced by [6], Soviet Math. Dokl. 3 1559–1562) and [16], Ann. Math. Statist. 38 1261–1265), and [23], Ann. Statist 9 146–156) two-parameter smoothing. The Bowman-Rudemo method of least-squares cross-validation (1982, Manchester-Sheffield School of Probability and Statistics Research Report 84/AWB/1; 1984, Biometrika 71 353–360; [14], Scand. J. Statist. 9 65–78), is suggested as a practical way of choosing smoothing parameters automatically. Using techniques of [18], Ann. Statist. 12 1285–1297), that method is shown to perform asymptotically optimally in the case of cosine and Hermite series estimators. The same argument may be used for other types of series.  相似文献

Quasi-interpolation is very useful in the study of the approximation theory and its applications, since the method can yield solutions directly and does not require solving any linear system of equations. However, quasi-interpolation is usually discussed only for gridded data in the literature. In this paper we shall introduce a generalized Strang–Fix condition, which is related to nonstationary quasi-interpolation. Based on the discussion of the generalized Strang–Fix condition we shall generalize our quasi-interpolation scheme for multivariate scattered data, too.
